Rights of Children The rights of the child must be respected, everywhere. Children are the most precious and most vulnerable in a country. They are the future. At this moment more than 50% of the Malian population is younger than 17 years old. An enormous number of the Malian young people have put themselves in the head to want to flee the country, because of divergent reasons, at any price. In Miriyawalé's opinion this is an evil development. Our work is to fight against this. The youth in Mali is threatened by many dangers; o.a, poverty, AIDS, unemployment, illiteracy, maltreatment and oppression. Miriyawale is convinced that a combination of social and cultural projects to emancipate, to educate and to exhilarate the youth leads to concrete results. With some financial resources, good equippement, much love and patience, demand-led work and the participation method which takes young people seriously and the Malian cultural sources Miriyawalé can make a difference.
